World Citizen Via Spartoo.Gr

all images are property of Spartoo.Gr
As a teenager, I always underestimated the value of quality luggage. Whatever would be good, so I ended up buying a brand new, yet cheap, suitcase every two years, or so. At the beginning of my adulthood though, when I gained some decent style sense, I started to question my initial beliefs; I started choosing quality over quantity; this is when I bought my first designer bag and my first quality piece of luggage, a Delsey one,  to be specific.

I know, spending 100-300e over a suitcase may seem a bit exaggerating, but that is the only drawback; so let me list some of the advantages:
  • You really want your valuable stuff to be protected.
  • No matter how fancy or slouchy dressed you are while traveling, a stylish piece of luggage will make you look -and feel- much better.
  • You will not have the fear of suddenly broken zippers, as quality materials make the certain suitcases much more reliable.
  • They will make a difference in the airport treadmill, where you will not jump around trying to figure out which black suitcase -over that sea of luggage- is yours.
  • Most of them come with a 2 year guarantee.
  • They are light and they swirl around (I like that).
  • They are much more organized on the inside, with many compartments and pockets, that will make your life easier and will keep your stuff nice and tidy.
So, concerning luggage:
do you prefer quality or quantity?

Froso.

New Babies Via Spartoo.Gr

Hazelnut Ugg Boots from Spartoo.Gr
I know, it's August. Today the temperature reached 38 degrees in Greece, but my dear courier guy arrived to bring me those little cute Australian babies, that made a long way from France to be a part of my shoe collection. Neither am I a freak, nor am I planning to wear those in the short-term future, I am just stocking up for winter.Wise girl, that is. Remember telling you that Spartoo.Gr featured (and is still featuring) amazing sales up to -70%? Well, I seized the moment and bought my new Hazelnut UGGS (short version) for -40%. And this is the moment I start praying for a chilly winter.

I am not here to tell you that UGGs are beautiful, or elegant, or whatever. I am still some kind of a hater, cause I find them really not-feminine, but (there is always a but, remember I am a Gemini with really open perspectives) my feet cannot live in sky-high pumps, just to be in style. I needed some kind of cozy shoes for these days that I keep shaking from cold, or for these little rejuvenating winter trips. I already have a brown pair, and I just got a second, hazelnut one, just in case. I didn't plan to, but -hey- it was quite of a deal, don't you think?

So, UGGs: Yay or Nay?

Can't wait to hear from you!
xoxo,
Froso.

Watermelon Nails

I always go for the simple line, concerning my nails, but it was impossible to resist those!
They turned my manicure into a manicute! Just an extra reason to smile, or to talk to strange girls who come after me to ask me about my nails. Credits to my best friend, Sophia.

I Have A Dream*

@Glisteri Beach. The best one of Skopelos, in my opinion.
@Limnonari Beach. Fisherman's Joy.
@Vrahos Bar, up on the hill. Beautiful view, greatest melon daquiri.
@Panormos, great place to park your yacht. If you have one.
@Hovolo, again. I almost cried to get there, seriously, so steep and slippery rocks.
The color of the sea paid us back, though.

When in holidays, three concepts are crossed out from my mind: healthy diet, Internet and hairdryer.  All you have to do is relax, sleep, swim, fool around and do all those things that are banished from your everyday life for reasons of time economy. Well, maybe I need not to exaggerate, as during summer I have tons of spare time (the bright side of being a teacher, I guess). But still, the feeling you get from the island vibes and that great sense of escape, have nothing to do with daily routine patterns.

And speaking of Skopelos, let me post another lovable Abba song, performed by Amanda Seyfried. Try to think like that, something good is around the corner; Love you all. F.

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail

I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream
 I have a dream

Fall Collections in Spartoo.Gr

all images are courtesy of Spartoo.Gr
We are in the middle of August, sales are on fire (you can find amazing things with a spark of luck), but it is quite a phenomenon for every one of us to give our full attention to the new-ins. Just like in the beginning of every spring tanned sandals and flowery wedges keep our eyes away from the -60% boots, the same thing happens now; I can't keep my eyes off of those new, suede or leather beauties that will keep my pedicure intact. I already dream of rain and long walks in my cozy jeans (you have no idea how much I've missed wearing my jeans due to the desert temperatures we have in Greece). No wonders the pupil of my eyes turn into heart shape when I see the "New Arrivals" link on my on-line shopping list. Uhm, and the last week I bought a pair of chestnut Uggs; yes, I know it is early, but THEY WERE ON DISCOUNT!!! And I needed something really comfy for winter because I am a teacher, standing all the time. Just take a look at some extra new-ins. I loved those equally.

Lay All Your Love On Me*

 Glyfoneri Beach
 Stafylos Beach
Panormos Beach
My Mel Jellies (of course via Spartoo.Gr) @ Hovolo Beach
Here comes the sun. Greece for the win.
An urchin at Hovolo beach. He is probably dead now.
In case you were wondering, the one on the left is mine. Nothing fancy, just a little boat.
View of the town, by a bar on the hill.

I've always been an avid supporter of the Cyclades, because of their style. You know, little white houses with cute blue windows, in contrast to the wide blue Mediterranean sea, just wow by itself. Choosing Sporades came as a surprise to me, too. But it was that need for a major getaway that gave me no second thoughts. Skopelos proved to be an amazing choice, an earthly paradise full of green and blue landscapes, and beaches so beautiful that seemed to be bits of heaven. I've never been so close to nature before (goats, fish, real octopuses -I mean REAL, SWIMMING things-, squirrels, cows, starfish, urchins and the list is never ending), and I am still kinda sad that I had to return to my everyday life, but life is life (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). Great food, beautiful people, chill out atmosphere, and -above all- love; magic exists. ♥

Being one of the Mamma Mia islands, Skopelos renewed my love for Abba. And Lay All Your Love On Me was the soundtrack of my holiday. With many more. That one just stuck on my mind.

♫ It was like shooting a sitting duck
A little smalltalk, a smile and baby I was stuck
I still don't know what you've done with me
A grown-up woman should never fall so easily
I feel a kind of fear
When I don't have you near
Unsatisfied, I skip my pride
I beg you dear...... ♫

♫ Don't go wasting your emotion

Lay all your love on me
Don't go sharing your devotion
Lay all your love on me ♫

Espadrilles in Spartoo.Gr

"The ultimate summer shoe. When the impossible happens and the winter turns to summer
in a matter of twenty-four hours, one must have a pair of espadrilles to wear with a sundress,
your favorite white jeans, or a caftan. The espadrille, a shoe of Spanish and Portuguese origin,
is characterized by a sole made from twisted cord sewn on sturdy cloth. The flat espadrille had
originally been a shoe of peasants, warriors, and Mediterranean fishermen. Today's
espadrilles are high-heeled and and would not fare well in warfare or on serious fishing trips.
Christian Louboutin makes the ultimate fashion version, which remain in highly coveted style
season after season."

Nina Garcia
The One Hundred
 Fashion 101:
Espadrilles did not go high fashion or high-heeled until the 1960s, when Yves saint Laurent
met up with Isabel Castaner at a trade fair in Paris. The now-famous Castaner shoe
company had been making espadrilles since 1776, but it was on the point of closing its doors.
There was no longer a market for the espadrille, which started out as a humble flat shoe
for peasants and country folk. Along came Yves Saint Laurent, who asked Castaner
if they cold make an espadrille with a high heel. That request saved the company.
Nobody had ever thought of a high-heeled espadrille
before, but as soon as it hit the market, the shoe took off.
Today, the label is legendary in Spain and around the world. It is
also clearly the favorite among the fashion set, as Yves Saint Laurent, Louis
Vuitton, and Donna Karan all commission Castaner to manufacture their espadrilles.

Just a little tribute to one of my new favorites!
xoxo,
Froso

PS:I just returned from my amazing holidays! Be ready for some really summery shots.
